Home school Support –Grades TK-8 Small group lessons in a variety of subjects that will help your child meet the state and core standards.
I. Academic Classes
Select from the Core Subjects or Full Curriculum.
Core Curriculum: (Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic)
Reading instruction includes: Phonemic Awareness, Comprehension, Fluency, Spelling and Handwriting. Superkids® Reading Program is the basis for instruction in Grades K-2.
SUPERKIDS! Transitional Kindergarten Reading Class (Ages 4.9 +) T. & Th 9:30-11:30 am “Chrysallis Kids” will meet the 13 Superkids characters and share in their adventures while learning to read, write, and spell. Visit www.superkidsreading.org for program details
Our Chrysallis instructors have been using the Superkids program as our core reading program for over 18 years, and we have a combined classroom experience of more than 35 years. The Superkids program guarantees that students who consistently attend classroom lessons, and home follow-up will be reading by the end of 2nd grade.
Writing instruction includes: Grammar, Creative and Expository Writing, and Speaking and Listening Strategies.
Math instruction includes: Computation and fact mastery, Basic Concepts & Applications, Pre-Algebra and Algebra
"Middle School Monday"
Grade 6-8 beginning January 12th.
Grammar Skills 9:15-10:30
Writing Skills 11:00-12:15
Full Curriculum: Basics, plus Science and Social Studies.
Science instruction includes: 4 quarterly units: Life Science; Physical Science; Earth Science; Human Anatomy/Health and Nutrition Students will participate in a Science Fair, Spring 2015.
Social Studies instruction includes: Geography, History and Biographies, Sociology and Government Learn about the 50 States, California, and local community through fun projects and field trips
II. Enrichment classes
Dance: Beginning tap and ballet for ages 5-10. Lessons are held at the Nancy Doize School of Dance, located on our campus NancyDoizeschoolofdance.com
Music Fridays 1:30-2:15: Instruction in playing the recorder, reading music, composers. Students may participate in a mini-recital at the end of the semester.
Physical Education: Basketball Monday 12:30-1:15, Ages 5-12. Soccer Fridays 12:30-1:15, Ages 5-12.
III. Special Topic Workshops
Coming in January 2015.
"First Fridays" After School Science Series.

IV. Homework or Study Sessions
Students bring their own homework or research assignments and work independently with minimal supervision and guidance. Students must be registered with Chrysallis Academy and study time is to be pre-arranged. No drop-ins please.
